They can do that but questions will be asked why people are paying for a service that isn't being fulfilled. The lat work isn't ours and our Dom has told them not to send it to our office because there's no one to do it.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑20 Nov 2020, 20:34If the LAT hub return them to the local MC then you'll get them back anyway with your non-LAT Tracked as they'll get sent out to whichever DO would normally cover that postcode areacitypostie wrote: ↑20 Nov 2020, 17:56Our local lat hub are already trying to palm the lats onto us, they've shot up this year, used to be about 10 a day they are already at over 60 and getting returned to the lat office because our own parcels is only just getting done by a wing and a prayer and about 3 people willing to work 5am until about 8pm.

Oh, I almost forgot. The PlaySation 5 was released in the UK yesterday.
This will put a smile on my face once I get my hands on one.
If stocks are available.

Many customers hoping to get hold of a PlayStation 5 on its launch day have been left disappointed after online retailers sold out of the console.

"Good luck to everyone getting a PS5 from @GAMEdigital @GAMEHelps today. Yodel are missing deliveries, and Royal Mail have changed their 24hr service to 1-5 days. Really should have sent them out earlier, as these delays have been known for weeks."

Some of those who had pre-ordered from Game asked why they had paid an extra fee to have a Royal Mail delivery that has now been given to another courier firm.

Once the LAT stuff gets returned to the MC, it becomes normal Tracked mail and will get sent out to the normal DOs as by that point it IS your workcitypostie wrote: ↑20 Nov 2020, 20:37They can do that but questions will be asked why people are paying for a service that isn't being fulfilled. It seems to have got so bad in the MC up here that they are dispatching trucks to us every few hours crammed full of parcels that would normally just come on the next mornings dispatch so they have got room for the next influx.
When I got back today they had people on docket sorting them into the mini York’s and lots of them already looked half full. Tomorrow won’t be a good day.

I'm enjoying the increase in the number of customer tips given to me lately. Five pound notes, free coffee, free sandwiches, free hot snacks from businesses, etc.
So you see, there are some gratified customers out there who recognize the work we do while we're under pressure.
At least on my duty.
Anybody else?

So Tracked isn't going out at your DO? I'm surprised that the DOM hasn't had a major bollocking from higher up for failing Trackedcitypostie wrote: ↑22 Nov 2020, 14:53That fine they'll just get lobbed on the pile with everything else that isn't going anywhere for a few daysSpacePhoenix wrote: ↑20 Nov 2020, 20:42Once the LAT stuff gets returned to the MC, it becomes normal Tracked mail and will get sent out to the normal DOs as by that point it IS your workcitypostie wrote: ↑20 Nov 2020, 20:37They can do that but questions will be asked why people are paying for a service that isn't being fulfilled. Unless he goes out and delivers hundreds of them himself who's doing them? Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Most DOs based on forum post seem to be giving priority obviously to SDs, then Tracked gets done, then normal packets if there's time and after all that there's probably no time to deliver letters, flats and D2D.citypostie wrote: ↑22 Nov 2020, 22:45Unless he goes out and delivers hundreds of them himself who's doing them? Tracked has started coming into MCs by the pallet load (wooden pallet with a cardboard base on top, and a tall cardboard sleeve. There could be potentially 1,000 Tracked items in each!

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
I know the feeling. I get nervous coming in after a day off. There's always a pile of mail put aside because the cover postie not familiar with the walk "couldn't find the addresses." Or too many mis-sorts are brought back. Or some other issues I have to clean up.
On other occasions no mail was taken out at all on my duty, save for Tracks and Specials. Arrghh! That means I have a backlog to catch up on, including door-to-doors.
