It's going to be utter madness tomorrow. The york storage room in our delivery office is jam-packed with yorks full or parcels, and more have been brought in next to the frames in other sections. There's barely anywhere to walk in the sorting area; something of a health and safety hazard.

This is it. The Siege of Yorktown commences in the early hours of tomorrow morning.
Good luck comrade.

Similar circumstances at my DO too. Im getting an early night tonight after this England game
Oh dear...

Sweet dreams, Munchboii. :Very Happy

I'm off to bed, too. Meanwhile, here's a nice Xmas ad for you folks out there:

Looks like the brown stuff hit the fan today at my depot, too much workload and not enough time for many... A sign of things to come for the next ~6 weeks. :Boo hoo! :cuppa

One of the busiest days I’ve ever known at RM!
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

Not my latest finish, but certainly the busiest day for a single day's work. 2 overflowing yorks and Expert van pretty rammed.

Another day of prioritising parcels over letters, without clearing the duty of all parcels. Oh what a wonderful Covid Xmas pressure this is going to be. :cuppa

Van was packed to the roof today, 2 full York’s of parcels, 8 trays of packets and 30 specials. Finished at 6pm. 🤬

Not looking forward to the next 5 weeks. Gonna be carnage.

Unachievable work loads now. Having to do my oversized first and then return to tie up my loops and deliver what I can as there is no way to fit it in. Haven't completed a full duty in over 2 weeks now. Had to leave 4 loops today! Still trying to peddle lapsing though

Trolly out. Work to time. Chill out. Not my problem.

If xmas pressure starts mid November unofficially they should have parcel duties in delivery offices. Our local lat hub are already trying to palm the lats onto us, they've shot up this year, used to be about 10 a day they are already at over 60 and getting returned to the lat office because our own parcels is only just getting done by a wing and a prayer and about 3 people willing to work 5am until about 8pm.

Had another one today asking if there's a delay with the mail. There she was, this caregiver smoking a cigarette outside a care home.

"I haven't received a letter I've been waiting for at my home address. Is there a delay with the post?"

Her home address is not on my duty, but I politely informed her that yes, Royal Mail is short-staffed and doing its best to deliver everything in this current situation.

Jeez, like I have to remind these people that there's a pandemic going on? And to a caregiver too? :d'oh!
