2 trays of sequenced, 4 trays of flats, 3 full packet bags and 3 yorks of parcels

I'm on a rural with 400 calls. Finished 2 hours over my time
Well done for finishing. You'll probably get a pat on the back from lino.....or more likely it won't go out on your next day off! Lol. Or cry.

I had a magnificent day today, except for one little hiccup. I left a bundle behind on my frame. Oopsie. :left: Not a big deal because I didn't have far to go to deliver everything. I came back, picked up the forgotten bundle and off I went again.

Happy, too, that I completed all my door-to-doors for this week and I was back ahead of time. This is not unusual considering I'm ranked as one of the fastest and most efficient postal workers in the universe. True fact.

Today was light for me which I was surprised by.
We've started a few of our Xmas casuals already!

Mask compliance at about 50% which renders it pointless.
Woefully incompetent management at its best as usual.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

2 yorks of oversized tracked and a york of standard parcels, plus the bags are filled up with smaller tracked
You wait until Christmas pressure starts :nana

Yep, can't wait.

It'll be manic. Parcels flying everywhere, like that time on Valentine's Day last year when a TV reporter was interviewing a postie while her colleagues were tossing parcels in the background. Viewers weren't happy. :no no

The thing is, it's always been like that...

Same in our office. Half the staff are either conspiracy theorists who think the virus is a “hoax” or they are just selfish and can’t be bothered. Might aswell just scrap this mask policy.

Unbelievably busy today. Van full to the brim. Unsustainable.

Every evening, every day off, my legs are humming and feet tingling in mild pain, felt mainly when I am sitting/lying down. Not sure I can continue with this long term. How can I spend my spare time on a Sunday feeling like I am just recovering to go again for RM on Monday. Even my days off feel like work.

It's the calm before the storm. If you think it's busy now, just wait until Xmas pressure kicks in when the volume of SDs, Tracked, parcels and letters really ramps up

Mate, it cant get any busier. DO's are already full to the brim. One can only do what they can do within their time. It doesn't matter how much they throw at us. 100% is 100%. What's left is a managers problem. In some ways it's quite liberating though exhausting.

Late parcel shifts will be needed by Christmas. Simply not enough floor space for the yorks in DO. Get the current rounds in at 6am to sort parcels and mail and go out delivery.

Then second wagon load of parcels turns up at 11am with the reserves and floaters in hire vans going out with the rest. Otherwise how will we cope ??

Oh yes it can. I've heard mentions that it's expected to possibly be the busiest year ever for Xmas cards. With lockdowns, covid etc it wouldn't surprise me if some DOs locally end up with between 4,500 and 5,000 of Tracked each, without the LAT items on top (which I reckon will go through the roof in December). I wouldn't be surprised to see some DOs getting 400-500 SDs everyday nearer Xmas

You missed the point i'm trying to make. It cant get busier for us the individual. Most of us are already working at 100%. I leave packets and loops behind every day now. It doesn't matter how much they throw at me, I cant do any more. What's left is not my problem.
