The time slot is I believe triggered by you leaving the depot.
It is 4 - 5 hours after that.
It is nothing like our competitor's 1 hour slots.

As most of us are already anticipating, it's highly likely that the UK will head into another full lockdown in the coming weeks.

The Guardian (Oct. 27, 2020) ~ Calls for UK National Lockdown Grow as Coronavirus Death Toll Passes 60,000
Total of 61,469 comes as country hits 200-deaths-a-day average weeks earlier than forecast

Had 2 yorks full of oversized parcels today along with each bag being rammed with packets. I decided to either:

Deliver all parcels but bring back mail
Deliver all mail but bring back packets (including tracked)
or 50/50: Deliver as much mail and parcels as I can in my contracted hours and bring the rest back.

I chose the 50/50 option, had to sadly bring back 3 loops plus around 15-20 normal parcels. Really hope Royal Mail decide to employ more staff to help with the evergrowing Xmas pressure :nervous

Both Germany and France are going back into Full National Lockdowns. Don't think Belgium will be too far behind. I reckon it'll be the whole of Europe by Xmas

They do, thousands of em, every year. 33000 this year but only employed in the mail centre's and outhouses seemingly.

The question, well one of them , is.... does this mean that the mail centre's are severely understaffed or that delivery is overstaffed as they can apparently manage Xmas pressure without any seasonal workers?

Seriously, does any delivery office receive seasonal staff?

Take away people on ot, SA and casuals/agency and we'd be well and truly f**ked. Pre-covid we'd have a dozen or so casuals/agency in every night. Now we've probably got 20-30 casuals/agency everynight

Yep, the DO that covers where I live does. It must be down to the DOMs as to if your DO gets any

DO's don't get extra staff because annual leave is cancelled. There's no consideration for staff being off sick.

Absolutely nothing that happens in a delivery office is down to the DOM.
People up above the DOM make decisions, the DOM is a figurehead.

The highlight of my day is reading the message telling me I have no customer collections.

Word of warning. YOU don't get to decide how much of what you deliver. You inform your lino that you won't complete (obviously with that amount), then THEY tell you what to prioritize . Just deciding yourself could lead to discipline procedures.
