got my lump sum COVID payment today. £150. Not gonna grumble. Hotter than holy hell here today, manager said "you can leave a couple of bags on if you want as long as the 50+ oversized go."

fair enough.

I hate it when I can't understand what a customer is saying to me because their foreign accent is too strong. :nervous

Got called a "clown" today for trying to be helpful by moving a bin to obscure a packet I'd left on the doorstep as the 3 pin plug wouldn't fit through the letterbox. I knocked, didn't wait, tried to be helpful as I suspect nobody wants to go to the depot to collect a 3 pin plug! Woman came half way down the street to complain, said it would fit, then it was shown not to. Went mental for moving the bin near the door. Apparently I should have put it under the gas box! . Husband then calls me a clown.

Great start to the day.

Clown me, I am. Clown.

Unbelievable - probably never done a hard day's work in his life. What an excuse of a man. He was lucky to get away in one piece.

Just there for YouTube likes and to agitate people. It's frustrating being filmed, however just ignore him. He would have got about 10 mins worth of film and left of boredom. They thrive on confrontation

You see, I don’t get this. It’s not like we are a crap restaurant they’ve visited, or a dodgy takeaway, or a horrible hotel or a rubbish airline...all places and things they can criticise then never visit again.

In some cases the public will have the same postman nearly every day for the rest of their lives. If they criticised that restaurant then went back every single day, they would get really poor service, who knows what the chef might do with the food.

So why are some customers rude to us, knowing they might see us everyday and that we’ll be handling all their mail and a huge chunk of their parcels. I think we can all take criticism and friendly suggestions but when people are downright rude or put in a complaint without speaking to you first, they go on my naughty list.

I’ve had 2 complaints against me. One of them is a business, I used to take mail in and up the stairs to reception because the noise in the warehouse on the ground floor means they can’t always hear the door. They put in a ridiculous complaint against me without even speaking to me and since then everything goes through the letterbox and they get a knock like every other property before I P739 it.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

Fairly light day and the whole office lapsed the smaller of the lapsing plans we have. Started to get grief from colleagues for finishing early even though I start late to do social distancing. I also don't take my break and add it to the end of shift as to reduce indoor time in the office and it helps me get home just a tad bit earlier. The time is being saved by not doing any indoor sorting. Just throw off and bag up but the walks (The hard bit) we are all doing the same. The boss doesn't give me anything else to do. Id be happy to do peoples D2D's but they can get f****d if they think im doing any extra walking for them. Il do like for like. I did shifts that were solid 8 hours of walking! It was brutal! If they start trying to fill my time with more walking then il go back to my original start times and nobody will have achieved anything.

Everyone had the oppo to change their start times but I was the only person to do it. They didnt want to finish any later and obviously couldn't give a s**t about Covid. When we were deep in the s**t I wasn't getting back until late as I was taking everything that came in after they had already tied up and left it for the following day but now we are getting back to normal levels and thats not happening anymore suddenly its not OK any more.

The worst thing is it is from the people that have taken years off on long term sick and the same time again on light indoor duties over the years. I have a vulnerable person at home but it seems when the shoe is on the other foot and someone else wants abit of leniency its not ok. Hippocrates!

We talk allot about bullying managers but our colleagues can be just as bad if not worse. They need to be directing their s**t to the boss, Not me. It's all because of the lapsing they have plenty of time to do but don't want to do.
