Delivering from 9:45 to 2pm in plus 20 degree heat, very little shade anywhere. Really finding myself struggling working in the heat now, especially once it gets past 12.
Working next four days on very hilly/steppy jobs and forecast is for temperatures of 23-25 each day. Today likely to be earliest finish ill have all week, probably looking at being out on delivery between 9:30 ish to 2:30-3 rest of week. Really dreading it.

if it goes anywhere you thought the chavs were going to try and nick your van and its contents didnt you.xPandabear1992x wrote:terrible. Checked the rota before bank holliday. Put on a round I know for this week. Cool beans.
Got in today. Hi, LINO, good weekend? Just checking, I'm on ______ duty today (as on rota)? I'll get right on it.
LINO: Hi! Yeah, ______ today like on rota. Have a good one.
I've gone through Redi's done the missorts and started bagging at this point. LINO tells me she meant to put me on the adjacent round. So I said ok, but next time don't give me the go-ahead to start bagging up and get a van. Wait for 1.5 hours to get a van, shoot through parcels and start my round. Immediately accosted by chavs who reckon I tried to run them over at a t-junction. Explained to them the contrary, and that they weren't even near the junction which I turned of so why would I wait for them? Didn't expect them to get it and was met with "you need to f**k off" and the whole "im gonna photo your van and get you sacked".
I didnt feel threatened but I left today bloody fuming. I don't need that.

As I arrived at work one of my colleagues was leaving the yard on his bicycle with a bag over one shoulder and a parcel balanced on the handlebars. Obviously no helmet.
I am glad H&S is everyone's primary concern.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Wow I thought the last few were gone about 6 years ago. My duty was one of the last in my office. I miss it.

Seriously? And he didn't want to put his bag and the parcel in the van with the driver before he rode off on his bike?clashcityrocker wrote:No. He was using it to get to the start of his vanshare duty.sindba wrote:You still have bikes?clashcityrocker wrote:As I arrived at work one of my colleagues was leaving the yard on his bicycle with a bag over one shoulder and a parcel balanced on the handlebars. What about the rest of the office? They weren't riding bikes with parcels, too?
