Rural with 380 calls getting 30+ special deliveries from amazon the last two days

The mail and flats are up in my area, seems people are redirecting business mail to their home addresses.

Honestly think my office is at breaking point, I can see a few of the chaps with 30+ years putting into retirement this summer. Everyone is exhausted

Well were do i start :Very Happy

The mail is crap. Letters are well down but packets are still at xmas levels. so a pretty ave sort of covid day.

However a rumour went around at about 8am that Rico had thrown in the towel. Went on my phone to confirm it :Applause

Things around the office picked up from there on. We then got our eggs and bunny which i think was a nice touch. Then notice of the £200 (should be for everyone) bonus which lifted the mood even more. Best feeling in the office for a long long time after all that.

Had a great day walking around in the sun. Iam sure it wont last but the best day ive had at work for a long time. :nana :nana :nana :nana
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

The pizzas & easter eggs didn't come from RM. Nearly everyone except RM values the posties in this country. The RM have their eyes on dropping the RRIS payment from our wages. If they succeed it will result in £1500 annual pay cut which makes a one off 200 quid pale into insignificance. We are on a knife edge at the moment with secret talks between the union and RM to decide our future .
The views I express here are mine alone and do not represent the views of Royal Mail Group.

What is an RRIS payment? I’ve never seen it on my payslip.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

RRIS is a recruitment and retention incentive payment (I think) for areas where recruitment and retention is/was a difficult thing.
It is something you only get if you work in that area. There are also incentives for people who live and work in remote areas.
These payments are years old and years out of date.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Are they what appears on payslips as "Defined Area Supplement"?

Thank you. The talk of £1500 dropped from our wages then is only for some employees not everyone then. As long as I’m paid for the hours I work I’m happy.

Piss taking amounts of mail and packets. Walk hadn't been attempted since Thursday. Had to do 2 days worth of d2d. Cut off a third.
