Busiest day so far this Christmas . Didn't get back to the office until 1640 but the office was all locked up so the final scan for confirming emptying the boxes will fail.

AYE, and a few late tory postal votes might not get to the count (aah, shame!)...locking the office before duty work is finished, sounds like wilful delay...etc etc.
q.) How come the managers' bonuses are not stopped for this sort of management failing? :coolr Are you flexing this extra time btw?

Are you not ment to take it to the nearest mail centre yourself if that happens?

No we don't do that 'flexing' thing in our DO. We get paid extended if we go over at Xmas but not the rest of the year.
The postbox outside our DO is emptied at about 1730 or later so the mail I collected still got to the MC that same day. I empty some of the other postboxes at Xmas that are on my walk to help out the posties at our DO that do the evening collections otherwise they get really full. Have nine postboxes on my walk - well eight at the moment as the one that was stolen weeks ago still has not been replaced by RM.

I've just sent an email to the CWU requesting that my membership be canceled. I'm out.

Very slack today, out for 8:30 & back for 12, did not see any of the temporary workforce around today? Have they been finished?

Lucky you, 4pm for me today. (3pm normal finish). I didn't see any either, but they have been starting at 3pm in ours, so probably already racing around the streets.

Do you blame them though? A couple of my customers have packets almost every day but are never home. If I was their neighbours I wouldn't be too happy! I always have to start with "sorry it's me again!" as they answer the door.

Nah i don't blame them at all. just gets frustrating after a few weeks of being on parcel runs non stop. Normally wouldn't bother me. Just venting

How was my day today? Brilliant! Slept in, read my Twitter feed in bed, went for a coffee at my favorite café, caught up on the latest Watchmen episode, did some shopping, and laid in bed for an afternoon siesta.

Back to work tomorrow.
