Still not caught up from the Christmas fiasco, under our two frames there are 16 trays of mail waiting to be prepped in, I swear on my kids lives that is the truth.
I’m not bothered in the slightest, I’ve been here too long to worry about it but what an absolute shocking disgraceful service we now provide.

There's no such things as d2d payments. Delivery staff get the delivery supplement which replaced d2d payments. It's fixed, no matter how many or how few d2ds you deliver

exactly why that needs to be looked at, d2d even over christmas.........

d2d payments need to come back, we lost d2d payments becuase the areas that hardly did them voted in favour for a small lump sum and the new supplement which only benefitted those that do hardly any d2ds, were struggling in london with all this crap

Can't see d2d payments ever coming back. It wouldn't surprise me to see both the mail centre and delivery supplements get axed at some point in the future (either merged into basic pay or axed completely)

It was all right...even got an unsolicited phone call from someone affiliated to the CWU talking to me about PPI.

Imagine how pleased I was, stopping in the wind and rain to fish out my phone from the depths of my coat for that...
Sooner or later, a beat dog bites.

Tuesday traffic.
Wednesday hours.
Perfect.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Walk im covering went out as absorption Friday and Saturday last week, needless to say 3/4 of it came back both days and barely any parcels done.

So of course as a reserve I’ve found my way on to this Duty this week. As a principal, if I’m getting f****d over then I’ll f**k management over too. Fighting an uphill battle and chucked with another reserve (one of the rejects that no one wants to work with cause my nan walks faster than them), no way I was staying out til 5pm clearing it all. Followed procedure and cut off all week. Today I was pulled into the office because I’m “underperforming”...I don’t know how I’m expected clear one of the biggest walks in the office with one of the slowest people in the office with 2/3 days left over mail and parcels.

It does make me laugh sometimes

I work in a rural office in the north with only 11 rural, 6 town walks. Last Wed 3 phone in sick and muggins here gets double prep on 2 rural routes with 220 stops each. Each had only a handful of gaps with 8 trays packets each, and 4 and a half yorks parcels between them, plus 18 specials. One town walk lapsed so i had to deliver each of the two rural sections i was prepping. It was 10.45 am by the time I,d done that. Then I had an industrial estate to do which took 55 mins instead of the usual 40 because of the conditions underfoot. Then I,m told to take all specials, packets, and parcels plus mail for any big outlying farms, for both rural rounds and to lapse the remaining mail. I completed the task but finished in the pitch darkness at 18.15 after driving 101 miles in icy conditions. Meanwhile my manager who I was led to believe would be mucking in before I left the office, had done a bit of paperwork and gone home at 13.30! A bit of overtime is nice but I aint being abused like that again.
