There's hard graft, we all know that, but what Royal Mail bosses put us through day in, day out, relentlessly pushing, never satisfied, no let up whatsoever, isn't conducive to good health, not by a long chalk it's not.
One question, do you do overtime or work your hrs? Not running, using a trolley, doing the job right?
I don't do overtime, I use a HCT, I don't cut corners. Still makes for a long, hard, tiring day, every day, never making any significant recovery time, doesn't it?
It's the people with no backbone to stand up for themselves, they're the ones in danger of becoming victims to corporate manslaughter.
Yeah I think we all agree it Bloomin tiring now, this posting lark, but don't flog yourself to death for it. Work to live is my motto not the other way around. Remember there's life (hopefully) after royal mail. Slow your pace a bit maybe, as long as you're working at minimum standard speed that's the compromise you have to take to survive till retirement and have a healthy retirement, then so be it. It should be a relatively stress free job if you just work your hrs steadily.

Is there still a standard speed?

Doing this job properly is rarely anything but stress free. Worst company I've ever worked for, and worst job I've ever had. Would be away from Royal Mail tomorrow if I could get another job paying more than minimum wage, or wasn't on a s**t zero hours contract.
Being well on the wrong side of 50 doesn't help, either.

Quietest Tuesday for a long long time.
Delivered to about 30-40% DP's at a guess.
Didnt use trolley once, carried all the bags, wore my trainers so i could run faster, jumped over walls, run accros grass, had both my earphones in, and went home 3 hours early.

Well ok, not really but its nice to remember the old days.

Went to physio for treatment, had another phone consultation with OHAssist (the person I've spoken to before has a differing opinion to my GP as to my fitness for work. Weird - the GP was seen me 3 times, the first OHA person has talked to me on the phone & made some errors on facts/dates etc in their report - who do you think has more credibility?)
The new OHA person takes my comments on board. To be fair, she seemed a lot more clued up than the 'tick box' attitude displayed previously.

Another Tuesday where the duty 318 is a country mile away from what is possible within the contracted "short" hours, even with a brief 5mins work time learning. Only having 7 D2Ds once again which are supposed to be prepped for 8 boxes helped! ;liar

Another Tuesday with contract start/finish times that bare no resemblance to the indoor/outdoor workload, even without a single second of the scheduled work time learning and doing less general indoor work than the 318. I swear the "short" start/finish time was fudged to be silly early to try and make the "long" days look achievable in making up a 39 hour week if my day off does not fall on a Tuesday!

Today I delivered about 20 or so Christmas cards! WTF! Not sure why but they were in a SORRY bag with a note from royal mail.
Other than that just a normal day for me, went an hour over as the round is STILL s**t and hasn't been sorted, not only that came back from my day off, No D2D's were done and loads of parcels left for me!
Nice!.
