I've been told to use rmguser and rmgbenefit as name and password. What I would like to know, if anyone can help, is who do i have to get in touch with if i dont want to use Halfords. ? They dont sell the bike i want !

I think u can contact Halfords and ask them to get u the bike u want, even if it's not one that they normally stock, rmguser wrote:I've been told to use rmguser and rmgbenefit as name and password. but expect it to be more expensive than u would pay at a dedicated cycle retailer.

Re: Halfords Cycle to Work Scheme
I got a Boardman hybrid comp last year and my contract will be finished around july time. I was looking at starting another one up as its a really good way of getting a new bike. The question I have is although the scheme is through Halfords I noticed someone said they used Leisure lakes. I want a road bike but don't want a carrera and the boardmans are more than the £500 voucher. How does this work as I say a trek and specialized I would be interested in. Also if Halfords say they charge you extra for getting a bike in for you how much more will it cost and will that still have to be inwith the budget of the voucher.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Halfords Cycle to Work Scheme
Just take the letter of collection to leisure lakes bikes, they accept in the same way Halfords would, it's as good as cash to them,
but ring them first to double check, it's 2 years since i got my hybrid there.

Do you still get extra money to buy saftey equipment. I got a £500 voucher a few years ago and got an extra £75 for accesories, dont see it mentioned antmore on the website ?
Havnt seen any decent road bikes for £500 either they all seem to have gone up to £550. can i add money to the voucher ?
cheers

Re: Halfords Cycle to Work Scheme
Theres no longer the extra £75 quid
as far as i know, u can't add to the voucher, but try your luck, go into Halfords (u might have more luck in Leisure lakes bikes) , and say u want such a bike, but it's above your limit, can they do anything ? wouldn't hurt to try.

Re: Halfords Cycle to Work Scheme
AFAIK it does not show as a deduction it just affects the gross pay. Thats if its the same as buying leave.tragictramp wrote:anyone know how long it takes before you start paying for it?, ie: ive had my bike for at least 4-6 weeks and seen nothing deducted out of my wages!

Re: Halfords Cycle to Work Scheme
When I got my bike last Jan they said I was not allowed to add to it in Halfords. Thats why I was hoping that in leasure lakes they will let you. I cant start mine up till the middle of the year when my current has ended. I also got the £75 for accessories which they didn't advertise and it wasn't on any paperwork. It was only only on the voucher when I had received it.
The only decent road bike in halfords is the boardman which is sometimes £565 or £600 depends on the time of year, but I was looking at the specialized or the trek in leasure lakes. Hopefully they will be still doing the scheme and I can get something from the lakes. Will make it alot better

Re: Halfords Cycle to Work Scheme
As far as I know you have to be on a permanent contract and been employed for min 12 months. Could have changed since I done it but I don't think so.
