The consequences of PCOD entertain me to this day! Looked great in 2008 when they were all flying out to their duty while the rest of us had to wait while six other people jumped out the crewbus first. Now the same people whinge about being roped into driving for the company

That's the kind of answer you'll get from management when there's probably only one or two posties doing such work at each DO and they probably aren't prepping any duties anyway.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑02 Apr 2026, 20:03Not viable as some would have to go out to do SDs, firms and timed deliveries.TopperGas wrote: ↑02 Apr 2026, 19:21An easy way for RM to stop this is just enforce a rule that nobody leaves the DO until every round which is going out that day is fully prepped, as things stand it's just a mad rush to be first out of the door.Pfrizzy10 wrote: ↑02 Apr 2026, 16:34I personally don’t care, they can add all they want onto duties and I’ll still be back on my time. Some may care though and having these people have duties nearly prepped and out the doors before they are even due to start is not a fair representation of workloads.Perseus wrote: ↑02 Apr 2026, 15:56Not at all, my point is that I don't get why it annoys people so much. I totally agree with your way of working by the way, and people coming in early/working for free etc etc should have no impact on you.Pfrizzy10 wrote: ↑01 Apr 2026, 22:33Guess you’re one of them people then lolPerseus wrote: ↑01 Apr 2026, 19:20That's never going to change, and i'd file that in the same place with things that I neither care about or can do anything about.Pfrizzy10 wrote: ↑01 Apr 2026, 18:22jagger wrote: ↑01 Apr 2026, 18:16Although I think you like to be a bit provocative, there is a lot of truth in what you say.
Royal Mail will do what it wants, eventually.
I know it’s hard for some people but you can only do whatever you can do in the hours allotted.
Try not to stress. Try to ignore bullying managers. They’re not sacking anyone for working properly. They can barely keep the staff they’ve got.
Go to work, do your hours, go home, get paid.
Exactly, that’s all anyone can do. Anyone getting stressed in this job is creating it themselves. It is set up to benefit posties now. We can literally walk in and deliver as little mail as we like (within reason) and it isn’t questioned. As long as premium products go, you’re good.
Though another thing that needs addressed is people coming in early. It should be banned and these idiots need stopped. The CWU should be fighting against that.
Why would the CWU be interested in doing anything about it?
