It only flags you as late and what time you go. It doesn’t matter if you start early if you have a duty time. That’s the time you start. The days of coming in half hour early are about to end for good.

The PDA actual system will show your stoppage for your break on delivery.

Can we all agree what a mess this is. Two tier three tier workforce etc.

Time to get everyone on the same terms. Half of us at our office haven't a clue what time were supposed to finish with a old contract + seasonal variation but new start times. It's a physical job putting letters through door never known a company / union to make it so damn hard

Everything is getting ridiculously complicated - start time finish time, where you have your break, what contract you’re on, working methods.

We have layer upon on layer of stupid systems - scan here scan there but don’t scan that unless it’s a Monday then scan it there then go into outdoor then back to indoor then oh hang on inflight so scan there then scan back.

Our products are too many:
1st class letter
2nd class letter
1st class large
2nd class large
1st class packet
2nd class packet

All the above with the option of recorded.

Tracked 24, Tracked 48, Tracked Letter 24 with photo, Tracked 24 without photo but with signature. Specials. We must have about 40 different options for posting something.

Where does it stop?
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

I wonder what will happen to the unscrupulous characters who come in early then go out and do ghost overtime.
I hope it clips their wings because they are crapping on everyone. What makes them think that they should be paid what amounts to double time, just to finish at the same time as people with longer walks? Why do they think it’s okay to brag about it as if it’s a great thing that their walk is so joke short, that they can do ‘overtime’ and still be back before time?

So I hope their ghost overtime days are ended.

There are actually pillocks that seek you out and gloat about your hard duty, when they have an easier one. I’ve been close to punching one recently.

The DPR drivers are the worst at our place. Protected by the managers and given first refusal on easy ghost overtime because they can get their rounds done way early partly due to them coming in an hour or more before their start times…

our resident ghost comes in for early morning ips and preps their duty along the way, nothing is ever said because he does it daily and covers a hole that would be needed to fill otherwise

That’s the other part of the issue. Ghost overtime workers suck up the overtime available, because to them, they are being paid double time just to finish on time.

i don't actually begrudge "ghost overtime" if they take the full duty inc d2d's, but at ours they will stop doing their indoor work thus leaving the rest short by not actually working their planned indoor work, then they leave most of, if not all of the oversize parcels and specials and rm pay someone else to deliver them, so it costs twice has much!
it's been common practice for as long as i can remember
