Slaughtered. Was expecting that Royal Mail bosses would shaft us one last time this Christmas, and the bastards duly obliged. Any piece of crap that could have been held back for Saturday, was put out today, Christmas eve.
Yet another s**t end, to another s**t Christmas at Royal Mail.

Worse than my worst fears. Absolutely hammered. Had a job to fit all the packets in the van, and 16 Specials!!!!
.
Still, it's over now. We've just got next week to look forward to, and all the packets from the sad sods who spent all Christmas Day on Ebay buying more crap they don't need.

The ones who said we had to work Saturday have been off since last Friday. Loads today , mainly flats that could have been held back 'til next week. Specials and packets, fair enough. When are we going to get a fair crack of the whip.

Grr. Paired up with a right numpty today. Maybe just a selfish sod, i dunno. Ended up finishing every loop off for him just so I didn't have to sit around in the van today of all days. We still got done at 1pm, would have been a whole hour earlier to my reckoning if I'd been with someone who just wanted to get done and home to their family like me. I so hate paired duties!
There was naff all really, just a few specials and a load of Mailsort rubbish that must have been sitting at the MC for a few days until they had space in their trucks to send it out to us!
All's good now tho - just got my Xmas log baking in the oven and family's happily chilled out in front of a film. Happy days, Merry Christmas y'all. Luv to all at RMC. XX

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Mail wise just like a normal weds really.
Managers brought out goodies (drinks chocs pie's etc) which was a nice touch.
Packets plenty and most posted yesterday 23rd
What I did not enjoy was having to finish d2d's for a boxing day sale.
Never mind off now for 2 days mayhem and then back in for sat, which we have been assured that there will be nothing in.

Not too bad today, just like an ordinary busy Wednesday and only one special to my surprise.

Been in the job since the summer and reckon today was my quietest day ever. Got everything delivered by 12:15.
Only downside was getting stuck with the most arrogant guy in the office.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Bit lighter than a normal Wednesday. Not too many REALLY large parcels but loads of little buggers that you couldn't pass onto the Special Parcel Duties.
Made my day when the DOM stpped all the "Runners" from disappearing early made them wait for the last wave of mail and the miss-sorts.
Thought I was doing really well for time but got back to find most of the "Runners" had still beaten me back
....They must have been Running faster today....But I sometimes wonder if I really am getting slower!

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Lightest day of December in our office. 1 packet bag for each walk, barely any cards or other mail. Most people were out by 9, we finished before 1.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Out at 9am and finished just after 2pm, twice as many letters as yesterday and still a good few packets and 18 specials between us. Was glad we managed to get someone to do at least 20 larger parcels for us!
Battered by rain sleet and hail and pretty much a poorer day than I was expecting for my first Christmas eve.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Monday and Tuesday very light and today probably had as much as those two days put together. But it didn't matter. Spent the day chatting to customers some of whom I have delivered to for nearly ten years. It was great, many kind words, few nice tips and I felt that a lot of people appreciated me for the first time in ages! I was out delivering for ages and can't remember the last time I really didn't care. Most days I wonder why I bother, today I realised why I do!
Merry Christmas guys and girls. Enjoy this time off. Appreciate your friends and families. Eat drink and be merry. Life is short and mostly s**t so appreciate the good times whist you can!
