Just not happening here. Non drivers on Saturdays who should be doing D2Ds are just being sent out on HCT duties where the regular guy has the his Saturday off before his week. The whole key to this was everyone would have them done for them to start Monday and it’s screwed alreadyfadetogrey63 wrote: ↑27 Sep 2026, 13:17The non drivers are the lucky ones, I would rather stay in on a sat doing d2d instead of going out covering two full walks of parcels and packets, Saturday's are getting to be one of the worse days, well actually everyday now is to much stress and pressure.

The sharing is the struggle here as well. I've worked in about 5-6 pods in the first fortnight of DM26 and I have done it properly once and that was only because the group in the pod had worked their arses off to keep the round clean the week before. Almost every other pod has been too far behind to take or give a third of the mail to. The OT sheet has people regularly clocking out at gone 6pm after a 3:30 finish.Mr Rush wrote: ↑25 Sep 2026, 18:50It's easy to get tunnel vision looking at your own frame and lose sense about what's happening around you so I always like to speak to colleagues to get a sense of how the office is doing. All it takes is one question regarding the previous day and they'll tell you about their entire week. Thus, as we reach the end of our six week journey (urgh)...
I said we were understaffed and I was told on here that DM26 absolutely positively couldn't be implemented until that was dealt with. Well, the LTB says we're not alone in disregarding that proviso. Merry Christmas everyone!
- Pairings are mostly fine. Are they taking their pound of flesh off the third frame? Hell no. There is as much scope as there was before DM26, which is to say: none. Clear one side and do 1C and packets on the other same as before. They can pile as much as they want on people but when finish time approaches it'll get cut off regardless. If it's quiet it'll not get done either - there's a lot of hazards out there to risk assess. The company f****d us with the last network review and now it can get f****d.
- Singletons are struggling. Since pairings aren't touching the third frame, all the 1C and packets (who am I kidding, just the latter) become the singletons' problem. So then the heavy side doesn't clear and then it's two days before you get back to that one and meanwhile the other side didn't clear either... and before you know it loops haven't been out in a fortnight.
- No idea about 50/50s. We have very few and I haven't heard them grumbling. Some of them are definitely over the moon they've yet again dodged ever experiencing P&L while those who would have liked to continue working solo are now raging. Perhaps they do have scope to bail out nearby duties, but as there are very few it's not like they can be everywhere especially as they're naturally on the geographic periphery.
On the plus side, I did a 50/50 trolley job with a bag of lapsing given to me before the duty started and it was the easiest day I've done in months...

Yes, all is not well in practical terms but I meant that for the people on the paired duties there was (so far) no pressure to do the impossible. Maybe the screaming and shouting will come later. Or the swings. Let's just say some are not happy to be sharing a van again.
The machine stops.

We have only 3 non drivers rest hcts , how on earth can 3 staff box in a whole office of 50 dutys? Bit of repetition there and musculoskeletal injuries , no? Not thought out at all !scoobydo79 wrote: ↑27 Sep 2026, 14:27Just not happening here. Injured from doing door to doors on a Saturday? I'd see it as a welcome relief from walking over 15 miles a day or getting in/out a van over 150 times. Getting a few columns of door to doors sorted into the side which is going to be 'heavy' on Monday on most of the duties would drastically reduce the work from 50 full duties needing done. When resources (indoor staff) are tight there would be no point in prepping door to doors into the light side.Chelseablue wrote: ↑Yesterday, 20:06We have only 3 non drivers rest hcts , how on earth can 3 staff box in a whole office of 50 dutys? None of our non drivers have any interest in prepping D2D's they'd sooner walk another 15 miles in a Saturday!!

Re: LTB 248/26 – Update on Delivery Model 26 (DM26)
Exactly. And so how fortuitous that it hasn't yet been the case that our non-drivers have been stuck prepping them. Someone has, but it's definitely not them on a Saturday.
The machine stops.

We have quite a few non drivers, not one have stayed in the office doing D2D
I have 3 weeks of D2D under my frame, I do not even look at them now, just kick them further under the fitting

DM26 will work/not work on it's own steam, incredibly though we too have staff that are going off reservation in regard to what is supposed to be getting done, not just on a Saturday. Old habits die hard, I guess.

I feel like the plan is going to turn out to be like the one the cylons had in the Battlestar Galactica reboot, or more appropriately the lack of one the writers infamously had.
I'm trying to follow the plan but then this happens this week:
Monday - Blue, Tuesday - Yellow, Wednesday - Yellow, Thursday - Blue
The machine stops.
